Elin Krantz: murder and ‘slut shaming’ as propaganda against minorities, Sweden & the EU | Bloggerheads
You have probably seen the images. The horrible, haunting images of Elin’s corpse under a pile of heavy stones. I’ve been on the internet since way back in the day and I’ve seen my share of genuine crime scene photos both on and offline, but I can tell you that I was horrified in a way that I have never been before, and that’s why I’m here for you today, when you need me the most... Trump’s Signals to White Supremacists Aren’t Dog Whistles. They’re Flares. – Mother Jones
...Not only were extremists excited by Trump’s campaign. Not only were they using it to recruit on a scale they hadn’t imagined before. They felt that the campaign was signaling to them actively and deliberately—and the more we dug, the more we realized they were right... Trump’s Signals to White Supremacists Aren’t Dog Whistles. No Hate Speech Movement
"Hate speech, as defined by the Council of Europe, covers all forms of expression which spread, incite, promote or justify racial hatred, xenophobia, anti-Semitism or other forms of hatred based on intolerance, including: intolerance expressed by aggressive nationalism and ethnocentrism, discrimination and hostility against minorities, migrants and people of immigrant origin." |
(Don't read the comments to this on YouTube: they are of course mostly ignorant hate from the very bullies the movement seeks to reeducate).
Objectives of the No Hate campaign
- To raise awareness about hate speech online and its risks for democracy and for individual young people, and promoting media and Internet literacy;
- To support young people in standing up for human rights, online and offline;
- To reduce the levels of acceptance of online hate speech;
- To mobilise, train and network online youth activists for human rights;
- To map hate speech online and develop tools for constructive responses;
- To support and show solidarity to people and groups targeted by hate speech online;
- To advocate for the development and consensus on European policy instruments combating hate speech;
- To develop youth participation and citizenship online.

My 9-year-old sold the Big Issue and revealed the truth of Brexit Britain - iNews
I was in the market town of Shrewsbury with my 9 year old on a recent Saturday. We stopped to buy The Big Issue and chat with Samaria, who is Romanian and has been in the UK for three years.
Despite the pouring rain and pregnancy-induced back ache, Samaria hadn’t sat down or eaten all day. We got her some lunch but she refused to rest because she had only sold enough to cover her transport costs. With two hungry children at home, she was resolute. What followed next was the proudest moment of my life. My son said, “Don’t worry, I’ll sell while you eat!” But my pride gave way to dismay...

Refugees, by @judeinlondon
As someone who works primarily with unaccompanied minors let me just smash this continued women & children first myth re: refugees.— Congolesa Rice (@judeinlondon) 23 October 2016
1) women are always at risk in conflict. We tend to pay the highest price. There was an entire summit on this in 2014 by Angelina Jolie & UN— Congolesa Rice (@judeinlondon) 23 October 2016
2) so many refugees & minors happen to be male is largely because they're fleeing conscription into fighting. This isn't rocket science.— Congolesa Rice (@judeinlondon) 23 October 2016
3) there is a long and rich history of young boys & teenagers being roped into fighting wars they neither understand nor want part of.— Congolesa Rice (@judeinlondon) 23 October 2016
Families will send their at risk children away from war to give them a chance of survival. This is the first deployment of women & children.— Congolesa Rice (@judeinlondon) 23 October 2016
So if you live in a constantly under siege town where 14yr old boys are being rounded up to go& fight, you're gonna try to get then out.— Congolesa Rice (@judeinlondon) 23 October 2016
This isn't really groundbreaking information. The use of child soldiers is as old as time. So these young boys & men become the refugees we— Congolesa Rice (@judeinlondon) 23 October 2016
see. And they're just as vulnerable as women & young girls fleeing sexual violence in conflict. But because we have been conditioned to...— Congolesa Rice (@judeinlondon) 23 October 2016

Trump Spamfile 23 Oct 2016: The Wall
And on the 7th day, Trump did rest and only sent out 2 unsolicited begging letters. Still nothing about Poll Watching, and the incomparable Rachel Maddow tells us why.
Of course, this doesn’t mean there won’t be Fashbots stomping around, trying to intimidate minorities, since a lot of Trump supporters are even more right-wing than the GOP. It just means the GOP doesn’t want anything to do with them. What the courts will make of anything that does happen should make interesting reading either way.
So, on to the daily outpourings of the Trump Train. Here’s the first one. It’s probably best read while listening to Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall.
