As I write this, Theresa May is poised to trigger Article 50* and start the process of taking us out of the EU.

 Now that it’s certain we’re going to set this juggernaut in motion, I expect Leave voters are feeling pleased and a little relieved that we’re finally getting on with the job. If you’re one of them, I’d like to take a moment to address you directly now. I know you won’t want to hear what I have to say, I know this will seem like a “Remoaner” rant (and I have to admit that it is), but please bear with me on just this one journey. If you’re a Remain voter, or didn’t vote, I think you need to hear this too...

A Begging Letter from Donald Trump

Donald Trump, the Stumpy-Fingered Satsuma, has always relied on blarney and bluster to get his way. In the Age of Information, where lies are easily spread and just as easily debunked, he’s realising that charisma and taking your electorate for complete idiots is no longer enough to win an election. That’s a problem when you are, in essence, marketing yourself. Trump has few recognisable policies and those he does have are patently unworkable, e.g.:

Crooked Hillary promised 200k jobs in NY and FAILED. We'll create 25M jobs when I'm president, and I will DELIVER!

There are only 7.8 million unemployed in the US. There is also no evidence of illegal behaviour by Clinton. There is evidence of financial and other forms of illegal misconduct by Trump, as anyone who has been following the news cannot fail to be aware.

Whatever you think of Planned Parenthood, this is a terrible and dishonest chart - Vox

On Tuesday morning, Congress held a hearing on Planned Parenthood, as conservative Republicans try to build the case for defunding the organization after a pro-life group released a series of "sting" videos critical of the organization. During the hearing, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) showed this chart to make the point about Planned Parenthood's activities:

Undercover Planned Parenthood Videos Were Altered, Analysis Finds - The New York Times

WASHINGTON — Planned Parenthood on Thursday gave congressional leaders and a committee that is investigating allegations of criminality at its clinics an analysis it commissioned concluding that “manipulation” of undercover videos by abortion opponents make those recordings unreliable for any official inquiry.

"A thorough review of these videos in consultation with qualified experts found that they do not present a complete or accurate record of the events they purport to depict," said the analysis of a private research company...

Of course, this won't stop the hysterical anti-abortion lobby, whose entire strategy is based on lies, emotion and bullying, rather than science. It's bad enough that even medically necessary abortions can't be covered by State funds, because bigotry. The ultimate aim of the campaign is in any case to deny reproductive health care to the poor, especially poor women.
